Mount Dobarar Ski Tour

Mountainous area of Dobarar is located in the north of Iran and the central part of Alborz mountain range. This area is the most popular mountains in Iran for Iran ski tour and this is for its closeness to Mount Damavand. There are 4 mountains more than 4000 high: changis Chal at a height of 4070m, west Dobarar 4000m, east Dobarar at a height of 4100m, Sooz Chal at a height of 4050m above sea level. Here is not too far from the desert and one cannot expect Iran to be a snowy country.” However, our biggest challenge at the Dobarar ski tour is avalanche risk.

Gradually, it became cloudy at that night. When I woke up in the morning I saw a lot of snow. I told Hanes, (the manager of clear sky of Tourist Company,) “Hug your pillow and enjoy your sleep. Today we can’t do something.” Snowfall continued until the end of the day. It was April as if the winter was coming again. Snowfall in Iran Mountains was not predictable and everything could change in one day. On that day, we went to Larijan hot spring and had a great time.

In the morning, the weather was completely clear. When I and Hanes were looking at Mount Dobarar from window, we thought that January started again. Mountains were full of snow powder and they were waiting for our skis. Two days after looking at the mountains, we also enjoyed skiing in the snow powder in the Mount Dobarar area. I still remember the joy of skiing those days. After that we went to Damavand tour where we climbed the summit very easily only in two days.
